NIKKI SIXX Wants To Interview METALLICA For His New Radio Show
February 8, 2010Starting tonight (Monday, February 8),MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx and co-host Kerri Kasem will sound off on issues of the day while interviewing rock royalty and everyday characters on two syndicated shows airing on rock/alternative stations: "Sixx Sense" (Monday through Friday, 7 p.m.-midnight ET/PT) and weekend companion "Side Show Countdown With Nikki Sixx".
In a brand new interview with USA Today, Sixx, 51, describes what audiences can expect from his shows.
USA Today: You have interviews lined up so far with Ozzy Osbourne, George Lopez and Dog the Bounty Hunter. That's quite a variety.
Sixx: We might have Ozzy on one day, a great actor on another day, a vampire on another day and then have some guy who's building rockets because he wants to be the first midget on the moon. It's not going to be anything you'd expect.
USA Today: It seems as if you and Ozzy would have a lot to talk about. Do you know him well?
Sixx: Me and Ozzy are neighbors. My world is a disaster because I was walking down the street and I jumped the fence at my kids' school and Alex Van Halen screams at me, "There's no trespassing!" And I start laughing because I've been busted by the drummer of VAN HALEN. Then I walk around the corner, and I run into Slash, who's on his way to Ozzy's house.
USA Today: If you could get anyone to sit down for an interview in your studio, who would it be?
Sixx: I don't want to interview people. I want to have a conversation. I want to talk to Paul McCartney about the bass sound on "The White Album". I want to talk to (David) Bowie about the artwork on "Diamond Dogs". I want to talk to the guys in METALLICA about the differences between their albums now and their first album. I want to talk to new bands about technology and how they're making rock records in their bedrooms.
